This year's charm is inspired by the Flower of Life. We made a keychain with this motif and give it to our customers with wishes for the new year.
It is a symbol that has been loved by the jewellery industry and is associated with many interpretations and different cultures. Its shape and its special symbolism make it an ideal choice for a gift to your loved ones, with wishes for creation, prosperity and harmony.
The Story
The Flower of Life is a fascinating ancient symbol found in various cultures and parts of the world. Its design resembles a flower and its shape resembles a hexagon, consisting of a grid of overlapping circles. It is also referred to as one of the shapes of sacred geometry that reveals the secret codes of the Universe. Patterns of seven overlapping circles appear on historical artefacts from the 7th century BC onwards. They are known as decorative elements in the Roman Empire period and survive in medieval artistic traditions, both in Islamic and Gothic art. The name Flower of Life is given very recently, however, in the 1990s, and is associated with the New Age movement.
The Flower of Life and Leonardo da Vinci
The Flower of Life and its mathematical properties were also studied by Leonardo da Vinci, who is considered to have been a lover of geometry. He painted the Flower of Life itself, as well as its various components, such as the Seed of Life. Historians believe that Da Vinci's famous Vitruvian Man was designed, at least in part, based on the Flower of Life symbol. The design incorporates a square overlapping a circle. The Flower of Life symbol, as the basis for the design, shows that the proportions of humans are in harmony with the building blocks of the universe.
Flower of Life and Symbolism
The Flower of Life represents the cycle of creation. The circle in the middle of the motif symbolizes how all life comes from a single source. The circles refer to the importance of the unity of all things in order to form a complex world. It is considered to be one of the sacred patterns of the universe, a kind of blueprint for all life, encompassing the fundamental patterns for everything from atoms to planets and everything in between. The Flower of Life reminds us to live our lives in harmony and tranquility and is an excellent meditation tool.

Introducing Ocean Ghost Net, the new collection of watches made from recycled materials by Danish watch company PICTO. PICTO's innovative new range is based on the use of sustainable materials and uses Ghost Nets from our seas as the main construction material, thus contributing to the reduction of marine pollution and the protection of marine mammals. Ghost nets are fishing nets that are either carried away by currents or abandoned and remain in the water for decades, accounting for up to 40% of marine plastic pollution. The nets can trap various marine animals and have a serious impact on aquatic ecosystems.
The design of the new collection remains true to PICTO's history and aesthetics. The case of the new watches is made of recycled fishing nets from the oceans, while the straps are made of 100% recycled plastic.
As PICTO says, the Ocean Ghost Net project is a small step towards sustainability, but with the ambitious goal that the watches in the collection will be a daily reminder for us all to contribute to protecting the environment.

"The Red Dresses" is an initiative of Rich Passion, the luxury silver jewellery brand of Groupe Rich, which aims to raise awareness and sensitize the public on gender violence.
On September 9, a photo shoot was held with the participation of many women who strongly supported the action and were photographed wearing a red dress and a bracelet made by Rich Passion especially for this purpose.
The events will continue until the end of the year, and will be followed by an exhibition of the works in a gallery, curated by Iris Kritiko, where visitors will have the opportunity to buy the photos and the bracelet of the project. Part of the proceeds from the sales will be donated to the Center for Women's Research and Studies Diotima, which through its longstanding action seeks to systematically highlight and address discrimination against women. The "Red dresses" initiative is inspired by the "Red dress" action started in America by Jaime Black. Black had seen a demonstration in Bogota in 2010 by the families of murdered and missing women. All of them were wearing red dresses.Wanting to express our support for the Red Dresses initiative, we are making the action bracelet available in our e-shop and stores.

The theme of our summer 2021 photo shoot is the pearl, the ultimate symbol of elegance and timeless style. The pearl is the only precious stone created by a living organism and is often referred to as the "treasure of the sea". In the past it was mainly paired with evening looks, adding a sense of formality to the style, while today it is also an option for more casual everyday looks. The pearl is also considered one of this summer's trends!
How are pearls created?
When an oyster opens its shell, a parasite, such as a pebble or a grain of sand, may enter along with its food. The oyster, in an attempt to neutralise it, surrounds the 'invader' with layers of pearl-forming material, forming a pearl around it. Natural pearls are very, very rare and that is why fine jewellery makers use only naturally cultured pearls. The process is the same, it is just that man interferes with the process by placing the foreign body in the oyster. The shape of the pearl depends on the shape of the foreign body, while its colour is determined by various other factors such as the variety of shell and the temperature of the water in which it is grown.
Coco Chanel and the pearls
"With a black sweater and ten rows of pearls, she stirred up fashion," Dior will say of Coco Chanel. The pioneering designer who "liberated" women by making trousers and comfortable dressing fashionable, she always chose pearls for jewellery. She usually combined several rows of pearls with each of her outfits. The style that established her, black sweater, trousers and rows of pearls around the neck could still be a very elegant choice today.
"If you're in doubt about your look, add a lot of pearls to it" is one of her style tips that have defined fashion trends to a very large extent.
