Montblanc is inspired by the pioneering spirit of Phileas Fogg and presents the new Montblanc Meisterstück Around the World in 80 Days collection, which includes the LeGrand & Classique, Doué and Solitaire editions. The collection brings to life the fascinating stories of Fillea Fogg during his journey around the world. It is the well-known novel written by Jules Verne in 1872, inspired by the new travel possibilities of the Victorian era. The hero of the book, Phileas Fogg, bets his entire fortune, claiming that he could leave London by train on 2 October, travel around the world passing through Suez, Mumbai, Hong Kong, Yokohama, San Francisco, New York, and return to London on 21 December.
Using steamships and trains, and an elephant, Fogg proves that almost anything is possible when one is determined and committed to a cause.
The Montblanc collection tells the story of Phileas Fogg's adventure through various patterns and colours. The deep blue and ripples refer to his journey at sea, from the Suez Canal to Mumbai. The steamship drawn on the cap of the collection's pens symbolizes the main means of transportation for the book's heroes. Also, on the clip we notice the symbol of the black ace of spades which refers to the card game that was the reason for Phileas Fogg's bet.
The Solitaire version also uses the balloon as a design linked to the story of Jules Verne. Although it is not used as a medium, the balloon is inextricably linked to the mythology that accompanies the book since there is the idea of the hero travelling with it.
Discover the collection and embark, together with Phileas Fogg, on his magical journey.
